“Yoga is for everybody.

All you need is a little bit of willpower and the willingness to learn.”

-Kylie Bailey

Meet Kylie Bailey

Kylie Bailey is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and journalist, who has spent 25 years working in magazine publishing and science communication. Along with her passion for storytelling, she is devoted to practising and teaching Iyengar yoga.

Kylie’s fascination with yoga first began at a class in her local hall at the age of 15. She has been on the mat for
15 years and works with Suzi Carson at Four Winds Yoga in Auckand’s Ponsonby for ongoing teacher training
and professional development.

Born and raised on the wild, black sands of Piha and Karekare Beach, when the writer moved back to the coastal community, she was inspired to become a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and open a school for people in the local community.

West Coast Yoga classes started in 2019 from her home on the ridge. As the little yoga community west of everywhere grew, Kylie moved classes into the Piha Schoolhouse, located in the valley behind the West Coast Gallery. From this fantastic wee community hall, she teaches weekly Iyengar yoga group classes and workshops.
