Retreats & Workshops
Piha is renowned around the world for its beautiful, black sands and wildness. Based on the west coast, just 45 minutes from Auckland CBD, West Coast Yoga is the ideal place to get away from it all, focus on your yoga practice and connect with the raw energy of one of the most rugged coastal environments in the world.
Our retreats and workshops place at the old Piha Schoolhouse. Here you are surrounded by the bush-clad valley and within walking distance to both the beach and Piha’s famous bush tracks. Kylie and her colleagues hold space for you to practice yoga and pranāyāmā in this beautiful west coast setting. It’s a chance to disconnect from the world and re-focus on what matters - you.

Waitangi weekend workshop with Suzi Carson - 7 - 9 February 2025
We enjoyed another wonderful workshop with Four Winds Yoga founder and principle teacher Suzi Carson at the old Piha Schoolhouse on Waitangi weekend in February 2025.
There were four sessions from Friday 7 February - Sunday 9 February. Students also bonded over a delicious group dinner at The Piha Bowling Club on the Saturday evening.
Thank you to all the students who brought good vibes and excellent energy to the mat.
In 2026, our annual Waitangi workshop with Suzi Carson will take a break. We plan for Suzi to return to teach at the school for a Waitangi workshop in 2027.

We were delighted to welcome Four Winds Yoga founder and principle teacher Suzi Carson back to the old Piha Schoolhouse for a special Waitangi weekend workshop in February 2024. The workshop took place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 February 2024 with a group dinner at the Piha Bowling Club.
Thank you to all the students who got on the mat - it was a great weekend of yoga and community.
Reflecting on Suzi Carson’s first-ever retreat at the Piha Schoolhouse
We enjoyed a wonderful inaugural retreat with senior Iyengar yoga teacher, Suzi Carson. Suzi has been teaching for over 30 years and is the principle and founder of Four Winds Yoga. She is Kylie’s mentor and Kylie also teaches at Suzi’s school.
Over two days, a diverse group of senior Iyengar yoga practitioners came together in Piha from all around Aotearoa to soak up Suzi’s teachings. It was the first time the Piha Schoolhouse was used as a retreat location and it was excellent. What we learnt was phenomenal, especially in relation to the way Suzi sequenced each session. As always, a workshop with her lights up your passion for yoga. I find working with Suzi in an intensive context gives you momentum for your practice, long after the retreat has ended.
Here’s a few pics from our two days with Suzi in February 2023. Stay tuned for the next one! Suzi will be teaching in Piha again soon.
